Leadership Structure
Our team features a student-designed leadership structure to organize our ever-growing team. There are two halves: business and technical, which are then divided into departments. Each department includes a department manager, who is in charge of making plans and making sure that each plan gets carried out correctly and on time. Implementing this new organization has increased our teams efficiency tremendously. For example, our lead programmer was able to take an entire day to program and test the robot's autonomous function, due to the fact that the mechanical team finished the robot sooner than ever. This structure is putting our team into a better position to be successful in FIRST, as well is in life in general. By having several opportunities for leadership, more students are able to develop and practice their leadership skills.
Our departments include: Mechanical, Controls, Strategy, Promotion & Design, and Business

Our departments include: Mechanical, Controls, Strategy, Promotion & Design, and Business
- Mechanical: In charge of building the structure and modules of the robot. Members learn to cut material properly and accurately, as well as learning how to design and think logically.
- Controls: In charge of the wiring and programming of the robot. Most teams have wiring as part of mechanical, but programming completely relies on how the robot is wired. Putting these two components into the same department causes fewer errors from a miscommunication between wiring and programming. Our programmers use JavaScript, which is one of the most popular real-world programming languages. Programmers get to enhance their skills and have a better foundation to build off of later in their future.
- Strategy: In charge of understanding the rules, collecting competition data, and driving the robot. This is a unique department that few other teams have. After kickoff, the strategy captain gives the team a breakdown of how points are scored and discusses what the robot should be able to do to be one of the best robots at competitions. From there, mechanical and programming work to figure out how these goals will be met. The strategy team is also the go-to department if anyone needs to know any specific rules.
- Promotion & Design: In charge of creating the team's image and sharing everything our team does. Imagery is an important part in FRC; how you look is everyone's first impression. Design decorates the pits, robots, and buttons, while promotion posts on social media, updates the website, and sends newsletters to keep our community updated.
- Business: In charge of managing the team and planning events. The business department is made up of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and team captain.
